Aircraft Conceptual Design & Optimization Engineer

Work Type: Full Time

Roles and Responsibilities: The candidate shall

Support and design fixed wing UAV’s based on the requirements. Develop algorithms for the UAV conceptual design that are scalable, robust and verifiable.

Technical leadership of a team on multi-generation technology programs to enable future design advancements, while independently executing tasks leveraging your technical skills.

Capable of implementing research in either aerodynamics, fluid dynamics, flight-dynamics, control systems, or composite-structures domains.

Perform and develop trade studies, sensitivity analysis, surrogate modeling, meta-models.

Perform Multidisciplinary Design optimization (MDO) using DOE and non-DOE methods to obtain a feasible design.

Advanced modeling and simulation, including high-fidelity analyses.

Support and design fixed wing UAV’s based on the requirements. Develop algorithms for the UAV conceptual design that are scalable, robust and verifiable.


Skill Requirements:

Necessary: The candidate must have

Proficiency in programming with strong exposure to Python for either back-end or front-end framework development.

Hands-on experience in implemented research or digital-twins platform development.

Reviewing software design, code and other deliverables created by team to guarantee high-quality results.

Familiarity with parameter-based optimization techniques.

Additional: Preference will be given to candidates with one or more of the following skills:

Background in at least one of the subsystems like aerodynamics, structures, fluid dynamics, etc.

Familiarity with neural network implementation of physics in fluid dynamics, aerodynamics or structures domains.

Experience with Neural Networks architectures and methods.


Experience in opensource CFD tools like OpenFoam.

Experimental Characterization of composite materials.

Finite element analysis skill related to composite materials.

Writing and testing scalable code, developing back-end components, and integrating user-facing elements.

Integrating data storage solutions.

Knowledge of: object-oriented programming and design patterns.


Soft Skills: The candidate is expected to –

Apply critical thinking to the problem posed and come up with solutions.

Creates innovative conceptual design solutions that meets expectations, within the deadline and error free.

Work as an individual or as a part of the team actively contributing to achieve the project goals and objectives.

Mandatory knowledge of Agile development practices.

Required Qualification:

PhD or a Master's degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering or similar.

Min 4 years of work experience in the Design or Optimization domain.
